Roanoke Women's 4x400 Breaks ODAC and School Record

SALISBURY, MD - Roanoke women's track competed at the Salisbury University Elite Final Qualifier Meet on Saturday night in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Championships.The quartet of Brynn MacDougall, Jessica Mejia, Lexie Janney, and Alease Kinney re-broke their school and ODAC record in running 3:50.9 in the 4 x 400M Relay.The race featured 5 of the top relays teams in the country with teams from NYU, Wesley, CNU, John Hopkins, and the Maroons. Wesley and John Hopkins got out to an early lead through the first two legs. Roanoke's third leg, Lexie Janney significantly closed the gap with a 57 second split. Roanoke's anchor, Alease Kinney, was able to chase down Wesley, with a split time of 56 seconds in the process, good for secondnd behind only John Hopkins.After today's performance the Roanoke 4x400 relay sits 14th nationally. Also sitting high up on the list is Alease Kinney in the 400M. She is currently ranked 12th with a time of 56.1.
